In the Walgreen's pharmacy...
Guy 1: Where's the alcohol?!!?
Guy 2: Don't they sell it?
Guy 1: Where's the fucking booze?!!!!?
Only in New Orleans would people be disappointed when the drug store doesn't sell alcohol.
When I was six, my grandparents gave me a suitcase (blue with big, hot pink flowers). I kept it packed and stored in the closet, just in case there was an adventure and I needed to be ready. It took another 34 years, but I'm finally on the adventure. A published author, married to a helicopter pilot, life is fun, crazy, adventurous, challenging ~ but never dull.

What a Difference 3 Years Makes
It's Carnival again. As Starbuck and I were just discussing, the Tuesday that is fat is fast approaching. Three years ago, Lithus and I went to every parade we could find, were out in the middle of it as much as possible, experienced it in every way we could find. Last year, we were pickier, only attended the really cool parades. Hand picked the events. This year...
Lithus could care less. I wanted to see Muses. So, we went out to see Muses ~ only they had swapped places with Chaos, so were running later than scheduled and...meh. It wasn't really worth it to wait, or to go back out. But I got some pictures of Chaos before we called it a night.
And then earlier today, I had to run to the store. In any other city, that means one leaves the building, walks down the street, stops at the store, turns around and comes home. In NOLA, it means one leaves the building, walks down the street, and ends up at a parade.
Sorry I'm not sure which krewe this was, but I wasn't expecting to be in attendance. :) It was certainly the most colorful trip for shampoo I've ever been on.
And Tuesday I am probably going to just hide. I'm thinking perhaps a pillow fort.
