For Mike C, Who Will Understand

As intimated in the last post, Lithus and I were in Vegas again, and once again, it was for an overnight only. But this time, we didn't even pretend. Instead of spending hundreds on a room on the strip, we went to the airport LaQuinta.

This was our view:

No Drunken Tourists
 This was our room:

Actual king-sized bed, as promised at the reservation

This was our oversized bathtub:

Unexpected perq

It was all lovely, comfortable, and in walking distance of an Indian place for dinner. And we didn't have to feel awkward staying in and watching movies.

Random pictures, that have nowhere else to go and aren't worth a post of their own (that I'm sure Mike will appreciate, but aren't aimed directly at him): A scary bunny sculpture in the Vegas airport. Hollow eyes are problematic.

Kinda looks like a dragon from here, doesn't it?
And a gorgeous sunset on the way home:

I read a photography article recently on pictures we all need to stop taking. One of them was the sunset/sunrise over the airplane wing. To which I say, fuck that. It's your damn camera. Take whatever the hell picture you want to take.

Cedar City

Whenever we go to a new place, there is a sense of anticipation. Nevermind that the new place is, technically, just another small town. There's still that sense of adventure, of discovery, of wonderment. And so it was with Cedar City, Utah.

Which is the home of the University of Utah's Shakespeare festival. The restaurant at the hotel where we were staying took full advantage of that.

Or something like full advantage...

While town itself was quite interesting and cute, the view from the hotel was...stark:

But Lithus looked good doing what he does (as always)

And when it came time to head back to Richfield, the view was beautiful.

Hi from 11,000 feet.
